How to arrive at Carrick Rooms
Arriving via plane; There are three easy ways of transporting to the rooms from the close by airport.
The cheapest option would be public transport. Buses to Port St Mary leave every 15mins from outside the airport. Please see link to Bus timetable
If you would rather have the convenience of a taxi then I would recommend booking in advance as sometimes there are none waiting outside. The following two local taxi firms offer a prompt and reliable service CastleCabs or South Star Taxi
Another option would be to hire a car, I would recommend this if you wish to explore the beautiful island in your own time. There are spaces road side with disc parking right outside the guesthouse. There is also an unlimited stay car park situated about 100m away from the front door.
Arriving via boat: If arriving by car, for online directions click the link above or enter IM9 5AE into google maps on your phone.
If arriving on foot, Douglas bus station is about 200m from the sea terminal. Catch a bus to Port St Mary from stand C. The bus journey costs about £4. Please see link for Bus timetable
The Taxi ride is 25-35mins and would cost in the region of £ CastleCabs or Elegance taxi
How do we know when we are close?
When entering Port St Mary you will come to a cross roads next to the school. If on the bus, alight from the bus just after the crossroads as the bus enters Port St Mary.
The Co-op is clearly visible on the right of the street. We are just 5 doors down from the Co-op, above a cafe called “The Sugarloaf Cafe” which has a distinctive turquoise front. The blue front door to Carrick Rooms is just to the left of the cafe.
